Learning outcomes

Individual outcomes depend on the specific internship. Some students may learn to write feature stories; others may learn to cover breaking news. Some may learn how to edit copy and to teach reporters how to improve their craft. Others may learn how to find and tell stories through video.

All interns, however, will gain skills in written and verbal communication, critical thinking, and workplace collaboration. They’ll have assumptions challenged as they work closely with a diverse and opinionated group of young journalists. They’ll be required to achieve at new levels, and they’ll learn to handle stressful situations with poise. In short, they’ll gain crucial workplace and leadership skills that will serve them well in whatever career they decide to pursue.

Additional requirements
