     Board members in attendance: Kedzie Moe, Gabrielle Bowman, Samantha Glenn, James Asare, Matt Haugen, Lorena O’English, Emma Ledbetter, Richard Miller, Zahra Khodaverdi, Faith Simon and Ben Shors.

    The board meeting was held online.

    Reports
    Daily Evergreen Editor-in-Chief Gabrielle Bowman
    •    Held workshops for editors and news staff
    o    AP Style/photography covered
    o    Workshop based on Seattle Times “Story A Day” theme
    •    Increased staff 
    •    Main goal this semester is to keep things running smoothly
    Question from Lorena O’English:  How is the progress of hiring a social media editor?  
    Kedzie: We hired Aniah as the social media editor for Facebook.  The newsletter has started again.
    Yearbook editor Faith Simon
    •    Newsroom and Chinook are still looking at collaborating on photo use
    •    Master document pages will be complete by Friday, Jan. 31
    •    Photos are arranged in albums
    •    Good comments regarding the yearbook photos
    •    No replacement editor for the yearbook in sight
    •    Savannah is planning on seeking the design manager position in fall

    Design Manager: Samantha Glenn
    •    Met with Savannah about taking the position of design editor. 

    Advertising: Richard Miller
    •    Slow spring, especially since the sports weekend editions have finished
    •    New online ads for wind-turbine meetings, GIESO scholarships

    Fiscal specialist K. Denise Boyd 
    •    Our year-end projection as of Dec. 31 is $42,000

    o    Voting is at the March meeting

    o    How does one request an event be covered by Evergreen?

    o    How can we get past events covered by the Evergreen, specifically Coug Day at the Capitol?
        Kedzie is already planning on putting together a story on Coug Day at the Capitol and will be in touch with you.
    •    Ben Shors:
    o    Please be sure to register for the Murrow Symposium on
    April 1-2.  Harry Smith from CBS and Andrea Joyce will be among the speakers

    Public Comments: 
    •    Lucy Stutesman commented that there has been a lack of photo coverage for news stories.  Kedzie and Gabby will be talking with Keaton.
